A blustery start to the new year

Happy New Year's everyone.

Mom decided I had to help start packing Christmas away. Not really how I wanted to spend today but there is the funeral stuff happening so...

We did go to Aunt S2's house for some New Year's Pretzel (Traditional here in Pittsburgh and I'm assuming German in origin).She gave me some of Aunt S1's jewelry. It's been three years since Aunt S1 died and I guess she's ready to let go. I can't imagine losing a sister (as I do not have one, let alone have lost one) but Aunt S1 & 2 were identical twins. It's costume jewelry of course but it's pretty none the less.

We made the traditional saur kraut and pork dinner too.


I loved the Sherlock Holmes & Watson in the 1800s. I preferred that to them in modern day truth be told. It was very funny.

As for resolutions, I have none. I like what ozma914 said about setting goals instead. You already have my writing goals. As for the others, eating healthier and losing weight to be sure but just as importantly I NEED to write some research papers. My career is stagnate until I do.

And of course 2016 isn't off to a great start. Trapper John (Wayne Rodgers) died last night and Natalie Cole died today. Sigh.

But life goes on and this one tickles me. One twin was born at 11:59 last night and the other twin born 12:02 today so not only do they have different days but different years. I have to try that one in a story.

Speaking of birthdays happy birthday to silvrethorn & iheartnickcath Hope it was a great day.

I thought I had seen all of The Twilight Zone but SyFys marathon in order has proven that none of us have. I had no idea Carol Burnette had done a comedic one (watching it now)

Sherlock was fun last night. They've never addressed his drug use quite so directly before (that I remember).

No, I think that was the most they've ever done with the drug usage. I know Watson has said something once or twice but not quite as on the nose as this
