Lots of things about today have been:
1. The scores on mid term exams where the class average in every class was a failing grade including the one test that was on reproduction/development.

2. Being told by the head of maintenance that I'm the 'first person who has ever asked where the gas shut off is.' And he was pissed that I dared to ask. You could see it. I said I know where the emergency shut off is in lab 220 and lab 101 but where is it here? It's in the next room over (oh because that makes sense) and it's not an 'emergency' shut off. It's just the flow valve. Okay dude, what the fuck ever. So he shows me where he 'thinks' it is (no one is sure) and says there and in the next room (same spot just a different access). He was not impressed that I was upset because a) you need a screwdriver to open the thing because that makes sense if the damn gas line needs shut down (that's so 'students don't get into it) and b) it's fucking PAINTED over. And then when i said well at least the access in 101 is open and useable he went over and LOCKED it with his screwdriver knowing we don't have one.

3. Trying to be sympathetic to a coworker complaining yet another student has accused her of singling the student out for punishment while you're thinking what are you doing that this keeps happening?

4. It's snowing

5. Going to the winery and saying wow, you remodeled and it looks great and he goes that was 2 years ago (I still swear he's wrong. It can't be that long. we go here often or use to...)

6. Having a friend post up how they need to stop this new thing in the UK (where neither of us live but it needs stopping before we decide to use it). All the taxi drivers want to do is get a medical certificate to say they're allergic to dogs so they don't have to be exposed to service dogs. I don't think that's too much to ask if a person is allergic and I pointed out that allergies can be life threatening. Her response was 'they don't need to be working this job then.' Whoa. The entitlement that statement holds is overwhelming (and she wasn't alone, all of her other blind friends agree). So, your disability counts but mine, which could cause me to die not only doesn't count but I should be barred from working? I'm not responding to that because anything I say will just cause a huge fight but really I'm not sure I have words beyond that's the most cold hearted thing I've heard you say. As someone whose animal allergies are worsening being told I don't deserve MY job because it might inconvience you, that is wrong.

7. I'm not excited about spring break and going home. All anyone wants to talk about is politics. I'd rather shoot myself.

8. These are the days I wish I weren't allergic to antidepressants.
