cornerofmadness: Angel in drag holding up cards (Summer sucks)

I sent Cassadaga Nights back out into the wild, complete with shitty title. (thanks to ELD for the help). I can't believe it's been a full year. How depressing is that? I did not return it to DSP. I decided to give Wayward Ink a try.

I've also looked at my Deadwood story...and hated the opening. There is more exposition than need be trying to cram it all in into a short story. I'm going to flag a lot of it and work it into the dialogue later. It's stuff that needs out there but doesn't need to be all inner thoughts. I'm not really going to start with it now. That would distract me away from Blood Red. I just wanted to see how much there is to do (not much word count wise). I'm debating on whether or not to send it back to DSP. it was one of those rejections where they DID give reasons so maybe they might want it back (they didn't say so per se) but it was definitely more than the standard rejection form. But it was also very confusing. It didn't feel 'done' and that was so WTF to me as the bad guy is caught and they literally ride off into the sunset together on a Harley. How much more done did it need to be?

I DO have something out today. It's a flash fiction story (300 words) and you can read more about it here.

Also I was wondering if anyone wanted to look at a contemporary m/m romance a chapter at a time. It wouldn't take up much time as I can't imagine have too much of it before January. Two guys fall in love at an anime con (one is a doctor who feels a bit too old and frumpy for the scene, the other is younger (still over 21) and is cosplayer of note, special guest sort of status with a following).

Speaking of which who would you like to see him cosplay?

My parents are back home from their travels.

I met with the financial advisor today and had a good laugh. I won't be retiring (fuck you med school loans). I would literally need to put away half my pay check at this point. If I can hang on til 70 it's manageable. He gave me this advice 'don't save it all. Keep some money to do the things you love now while you're young and healthy.' I've been saying that for years.

Day 20 - no words but I was formatting and sending out my novella so I count that as work getting done.

Day 21 - 126 words

And happy birthday Stephen King.
