First off, Mom's doing better tonight. They had her down in PT. She's liking the vicodin.

As for me, the mammogram had the same results as last time, densities that are probably just folded tissue because A) I have a whole lot of breast B) they're fibrous so i'm not worried that we had to cone down again on the problem spots.

Then went to the endocrinologist. He's just thrilled that my diet has made me gain five pounds. I think HE'S about ready to tear his hair out too. And we were talking about the tumor in my adrenals. Yes it's STILL pumping out aldosterone in spite of the salt. However, this should be depleting my renin (a kidney hormone) he was about to send me to the kidney specialist when he looks up at me 'how long have you been on spironolactone and why? You have low blood pressure (it would be high pressure if the aldosterone had its way).'

Years say I. Because the PCOS makes my hair fall out in clumps. Why? Then we both look at each other. He turned red. I about slapped my forehead. HOW did we miss that this is an aldosterone antagonist. So. No kidney doctor. Chances are while the tumor is putting out low hormone amounts, I'm already ON the right medication for it. Sheesh. We both felt dumb. Unconcerned now, we're just goint to MRI it again this fall to make sure it's not growing. It's not like I don't go for blood tests every other month. We'll know if something is going wacky. The only reason TO worry about the tumor is if it was causing primary hypertension but it's not. At least not yet. I'm better off with a tad extra aldosterone than I am without an adrenal.

ETA - in non-doctor speak, this means I'm fine guys.

Is it wrong

to be utterly amused at blowing a dumb animal's mind? I finally remembered I have a breakaway collar for ROy (easily the girliest thing ever but it was this or a rainbow stripe and I figure what's a cat know?). I put it on him and it has a bell on it. He's fine with being collared UNTIL he goes to eat and shakes his head.

Roy nearly goes through the ceiling, eyes frantic. WTF was that. You can hear him thinking. He shakes his head again and more ringing. Roy promptly attacks his kibble, scattering it everywhere. The more he thrashes the more the bell rings.

Finally he realizes it's around his neck and tries to bite himself (not a smart boy). I take it off. I'm keeping this for days when I need amusement.
