I slept! For the first time since leaving Wales it was cool enough for me to sleep without waking up every hour. Yay.It was in the 50's last night and in the low 70's. i drove all the way home with the windows down. It's going to be 50 tonight. Twirls. The only down side is that while my parents have wonderful meteor shower watching facilities (i.e tallest hill in the town + balcony with loungers), it's SO cloudy I can't see the stars. WAAAH. But honestly it could be between 50-70 all year round and I'd be so happy (I could move to Eureka CA, where that is reality but there is no biology dept other than fishery at its college, I looked)

I did something dumb. I pulled all my original fiction off the flash (with the anticipation of reloading newer versions) but I kept getting phone calls and I FORGOT to do it. Let's pray my computer turns on when I go home. Luckily I'm only in PA for a few days.

My brother and SiL were here and we watched the old Super 8 movies mom and dad put on dvd. Great footage of me clobbering John. And something neither of us had ever seen. The only known footage of my grandfather. he died young, before I was born. One of dad's friends (also doing the old super 8 to modern day conversion) had it. He had Popeye forearms...

Hey Vegas Fans, I'm trying to flesh out the search for the vampire Eleni in my story Blood Red Roulette. Any thoughts as to where they would look or where someone could hide? (besides the inside of a casino though if you have a cool trivia bit about one of those, feel free)

Your olympic coverage bites the big one. There are 300 games so WHY is it nothing but volleyball or cycling no matter when I sit down. my brother was whining about this too. If I never see volleyball again I'll be thrilled. I was over the moon this morning to sit down to synchronized swimming. Yes, I know that it's very WTF to many people but I love it. I love ballet and that's what it reminds me of, ballet only underwater and most of the time upside down. I can't even imagine how hard that is. For that matter there are a whole lot of summer olympic sports that just don't seem like they should be olympic sports (beach volleyball and badminton I'm looking at you).

My grades are in. YAY.

THe cats are in the kennel. I spoke to the vet. She will look at Soul and she might keep him. I think I'll give him one more shot then surrender him. It's hard. I've NEVER had to do this before. I had to leave my cats with my parents twice (Rainbow and Iktomi) but never had to give one up because he was just so problematic that he had to go. But he does. Right now I have to rent a carpet cleaner because this whole place smells like a nursing home.

My shoulder is killing me and my good shoulder is going the same way as the bad one. I had to use my inhaler so many times today (even though it was NICE today) I'm falling the hell apart.

Oh and for the Vegas fans here, apparently Mirage is owned by the same people as Mandalay Bay since I signed up for the former and the latter is sending me stuff too.

Photo a day in August prompt - Ring

from thumb to pinkie, a reversible ring with an om symbol (outfacing) and a yantra on the other side, a cheapo Macy's stretch ring, a silver ring made from a spoon, my prized dragon ring from the Renn fest (the one ring I don't notice when it's on my hand. I don't really like wearing rings since I mess with them all the time) and my Renn poison ring.
