But I'm a bad baker. I don't like to bake so naturally Mom has me making every cookie in the world. This morning it was peanut butter blossoms, snickerdoodles and oatmeal raisin (that Dad insisted had to be rolled in coconut. This evening we made about dozen gaulettes (gullets, waffle cookies, whatever you want to call them) those took me and mom about 2 hours. I burned my arm on the outside of the iron (3 inch blister. WHEEE) and then got my knuckles on the waffler, smaller burns but more decorative. We took turns, one making them the other shuffling them off into piles as they cooled.

Me - mom, come clear the rack.

Mom - I'm not getting back up

Me - that's not the deal

Mom - I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further

Me - I can't believe you just said that

My gaulettes were sad. Either they were the size of frisbees or misshapen and the iron is so old thing stick. sigh. We DO have a cast iron gaulette iron that mom wants me to try (to see how bad she had it when she had to help her mom as a kid) like this one Photobucket

And you have to think why did anyone think a cookie was worth using that iron (it weighs a ton)

My brother stopped by to get the coffemaker mom picked up for his wife for the holidays and he fixed my bad arm. He was impressed with how much inflammation there was. Whee. To bad the kinesiotape he used is itching.

Kanda can't get enough of running around the house. He is going to be SO disappointed.

I got [livejournal.com profile] rahirah & [livejournal.com profile] wildrider's card. Churro is adorable

Speaking of disappointed, if the doomsayers are wrong about tomorrow (as we all assume they are) then I'll see you then. If they're right, nice knowing you :-)
