Darkness cannot
Jan. 21st, 2013 10:10 pm“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.” ― Martin Luther King Jr. There is little add to a statement that profound.
Honestly, I can say I pissed away my MLK day off. I looked outside and said wow still bright and beautiful, I'm going to the mall (it's about a 90 mile round trip to the one in Chillicothe). Half way there the clouds rolled in. just outside the city, I could smell I was there (sorry but Chillicothe smells, paper mill). I wanted two things, a shredder and some plain shells to go under my jackets.
Office Max was supposed to have a shredder on sale for 29.99. Let me tell you these jerks must have had one of everything because ALL their sale things were bare shelves. Bite me. I went to Sears because I saw those shirts I wanted back in PA but didn't have my coupons. They had them but ugh, the colors were better in PA. Pastel lime green? pale yellow? pale melon? I'd look bilious. No thanks. I did get three shades of blue. I will say this, Sears is stocking clothes bigger than Macy's. I could get two sizes down at Sears.
I was, however, depressed by how empty Sears is. I hate that they'll probably be gone soon because they're managed by buffoons. I'm a history nut and if nothing else, Sears has history and I'll be sad when it's lost to me.
I went to TJ Maxx but this one had the worse selection of well just about everything and Joann Fabrics is so tiny it's not worth going into which sucks because now all crafting has to wait until I go to Columbus/Huntington because I'll no longer shop Hobby Lobby. I know they're religious. Fine. But when you're busy interfering with women getting birth control you do NOT need my money.
When I was in Olive Garden, I saw the snow flakes but outside was crazy. The snow was just spitting and not sticking but for about 10 miles outside of town it was like driving in the clouds. No division between earth and sky just fluffy gray. After that there was no weather.
I am SO glad it's going to be cold though. When it hit 70 last weekend, all my skin on my fingers freaked out. This eczema is getting worse. It didn't used to take just one day of heat for my skin to peel off.
And if you want to hear me talk about rejection head this way
Speaking of rejection, someone just told me that Harper Voyager's open call had such a response that they need extra time but as a compensation, they're going to comment on the stories which they weren't before (because there was no time which strikes me as strange). I'm not sure how long it's been extended. I guess I should go look.
Day 8 declutter -item tossed - Green dress shirt why kept -Nice shirt why tossed -Forgot it was in the wash and put it in industrial dryer. Barbie can wear it now. (I'm very long waisted (and fat waisted but that's a different matter) so I need a longer shirt. this will expose way more belly than anyone wants to see. off to goodwill (and does it count if I toss one but immediately buy 3 more??)
