I was going to clean. I was going to go to Athens. Instead my sugar skyrockets over 400 then fell to under 100. I feel like crap warmed over. Sigh.

I have nearly finished all my edits though. Some of them make me want to head desk (sometimes because of them, sometimes because of ME).

Didn't make my tests. Didn't grade anything. Almost watched all my recorded shows.

My internet is still mostly broken. Sigh.

Kanda is losing his mind as I type this, chasing his tail. He was also doing this on the lip of the tub tonight. That makes me nervous.

For those who like to play fandom_stocking is back. Yes I'll be doing this. So if you do it, link me to it and I'll do my best to do a fill. As for the rest of you who aren't playing, if you want a holiday drabble, drop me off a prompt. If you're not sure I know the fandom ask. Keep in mind I only slash a few couples so some slash prompts might end up gen. So if you're not doing the stocking, the fandom, pairing and maybe a prompt will be okay since I have other places to drop holiday stories. They will be short this year guys. I have two pro anthologies with deadlines in jan/feb and I have no idea if I have to edit this novel one more time or not but I WILL have to dealing with the cover, the galleys and lining up the promotion for it.

click here to see one of the projects I'm writing for. If anyone wants to read a short story let me know. If anyone wants to help me with some local slang that would help too (I'm not sure I have anyone from Wales on the list).

If I ever find time and stop feeling like hell I'll get back to the decluttering.

I went to the Huntington Museum of Art with [livejournal.com profile] rain_oubliette who is surprisingly from this tiny corner of the world and was back on vacation. I've never been to the museum and when we got there for a moment I thought we weren't going to get in. Turned out it was a free day and the Christmas party. They had people in very well done (i.e. professionally done) Renn outfits singing very old Christmas carols. Somewhere was grade schoolers doing the same. We saw some of the permanent exhibits, glassware (love glass), fire arms (the French know how to decorate them) and the Touma exhibit of Middle Eastern stuff including a furniture set completely covered with mother of pearl. Really beautiful stuff.

And Kahlil Gibran's work was being shown. I've always loved his writing so getting to see his artwork was a treat. I'm really glad I went and saw that. As I told Rain, after seeing some of the art was from written works I didn't know by him, I'm going to have to go look for them. And then there was the modern art. I'm still looking for someone to explain some of this stuff to me. What makes it art? There was a series on college ruled lined paper turned sideways with a single Chinese letter on it. One didn't even have that. It was just water rings that ran the lines. I honestly don't understand why it was art. I did like that Marshal University has a permanent display area. It's nice getting to see young artists. All in all a good day.

It feels like I've been off work forever instead of 2 days. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow.
