This is just getting bizarre

I got my laptop back today. It doesn't have a virus according to the head of IT. He also gave me this emergency virus remover gratis. But it keeps bringing me to these bizarre pages. Are you sure? Of course he was.

Then I brought up livejournal because that's what kept giving me the message and sure enough there it is. The blog url is what has the malware. Now I'm pissed because it's LJ.

HOWEVER, I came home and found a) I can no longer get into my Xbox games. It crashes the moment it tries to come up (I'll send an email about that at work on monday) and b) if I'm on FB or yahoo mail it's fine. But ANY other website, flightrising, livejournal, seekerville, tor etc etc brings up those weird pop ups.

Now I'm totally confused. He says there's nothing in the registry. He's put on ccleaner and I WATCHED him do two viral scans and nothing hit. I will ask about this but I don't want to be a pest because technically they're not supposed to be doing this and they did it for free. Bangs head on wall.

On an upnote, the faculty meetings were overall good and our new retirement group (Voya) looks far more on the ball and more progressive.

We went to the Wounded Goose (me and the chemists) it was very early but I did get a nice glass of an Ohio wine (Raven's Glenn, not linking because they can't ship out of OH) and had the one I'd been eyeing, White Raven, very tasty. Sweet without being overly so.

My writing is failing again. Oh where has my self discipline gone?

And how awkward was it for you, student, who told your buddy to tell me that you missed my lab because you were sick with the flu and I caught you in the hall as a 'student ambassador' showing prospective freshman around campus?
