It's been a weird day
Apr. 5th, 2016 10:40 pmI had a 7 AM doctor's appt (AGAIN) and so I went to bed at midnight and woke up 3 hours later. I've been up ever since and I'm as jazzed as if I pounded redbulls all day. I don't even want to know.
Even weirder is my sugar was over 310 BEFORE they gave me the steroids today (If it hadn't been such a nightmare three month journey to this appt I would have canceled the appt). I should be exhausted. I'm not sure WHY it's that high. I also have a swollen lymph gland (submandibular) so I probably have an occult infection causing the sugar. In fact the steroids only bumped it up 30 points.
So I got the nerve block. It went easy (the doc is the son in law of one of our deans and my friend so...) It was a mix of steroids and short and long lasting anesthetics so we'll see if it helps with some of the pain and numbness I have.
It's been rather a pissy day because of some of the stuff at work and for some reason I found my students outside the classroom today, it's too hot to go in there. I went in and it was probably between 85-90 degrees. I found another class room.
I have to share this woman's work with you. 3-D printed armor Wow, just wow.
For poetry month how about this ( a poem I wrote )
Honestly, I'm not a poet and it's 20 years old but what the heck? Might as well share it.
