I got up at 8 like usual after my normal 6 hours sleep. I knew I wanted to sleep more so I got up and didn't do my normal routine so Kanda started crying because he thought we were leaving again. I went back to sleep...and slept to 11:30. WTF?
It took me forever doing the laundry so I got home barely in time to turn around and leave for the Nano after party which was just me and the MLA for 90% of the time. I had stopped at Sol, the Cuban restaurant for dinner and tried a Caipirinha for the first time. It's the national cocktail of Brazil made with Cachaça, a sugar cane liquor distilled from fresh cane and that spelling is close, tasted like caca. Horrible. Ah well, I like trying new things but that was just not my thing. It managed to taste somehow spoiled.
Speaking of spoiled, I bought an end of the semester treat, some high end fancy jerky. I was so excited I ripped into it in the car in the parking lot...and in spite of having a sell by date of next July it was SPOILED and reeking. Bah. (and the line to get my money back was long).
Still it was nice going into Athens for the after party even if nearly no one was there. I had a Tim Horton's salted caramel hot chocolate which was way too much sugar for me and I was so sleepy...
I need to get writing and doing all the school work stuff. But before that, I need to share Advent calendar day 2's music. Everyone knows I'm a huge Abney Park fan. And I got a signed album in the mail today from them thanks to Flippy so yay for early holiday gifts. This is from their latest album and it needs to be full on fiction (I know Robert does write but not sure if he's written this). It's not really a happy song but I love it.
and speaking of Flippy, she sent me this after yesterday's music and I have to share it. Scariest Christmas Carol ever.
And have a lovely 2017 calendar from the Naked Warwick Rowers It's designed to combat homophobia in sports and the money goes to a charity aimed at that. Cute guys, good cause, can't go wrong.
