I'm so happy to see this going on again this year.

You know what I'm just going to rec three brand new ones I've written for [profile] 12_daysofficmas & [community profile] celebrate_fma (Both on livejournal) and [community profile] allbingo here on DW. I'd suggest checking out the communities. They're fun.

Let It Snow

THe Light of the Solstice

Strange Beautiful

All the stories are PG-13, the first is Roy/Maes and the last two are Roy/Riza and Ed/Winry, all from Fullmetal Alchemist

Day 2

In your own space, share a book/song/movie/tv show/fanwork/etc that changed your life. Something that impacted on your consciousness in a way that left its mark on your soul. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

This one is very easy. I don't even have to think about it. Star Trek, the original (and the ones that came after it have been important to me too. Star Trek was the first place I saw woman in command positions, that people of all races and beliefs could be treated as equals, that good won out in the end most of the time. My first two Hollywood crushes came from this show (Spock and Sulu).

As a teen, when I felt depressed, potentially suicidal, I would imagine being on the ship and ait would help me. It was my touch stone.

Watching it now as a mature adult, I do see its faults and they are many but I still love it. I would rather have the bright, positive future Star Trek than all the depressing dystopias that are so popular right now.

Day 03: In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

My goals are simple: Finish my projects. I have so many unfinished ones it's very sad. Stop playing around so much online and concentrate more on the things that need doing. I am so good at wasting time.

I probably won't be writing much fanfic as I really don't have any new ones that have captured my attention and mine are a bit played out and dying (even if I still love them).

But more importantly I need to concentrate on my professional writing. I have novels to finish, others to redo and one to try to find an agent for. It's a busy year IF I do what I should do.

How did three weeks go so damn fast? I drive back tomorrow. I hope it a) rains less than today b) doesn't freeze before I get there. Also hoping my polar bear Christmas decorations are still there.

I didn't get to see my best friend. She was still ill and in a way that's okay. I had to take stuff back to Macy's and Mom went with me to take something back to Bed Bath and Beyond. OMG they had amazing holiday decorations for 70% off. I got three little pine tree 'candles' that are on a timer which will be nice to help pretend I'm still in my place. I got some super cute snowflake and snowman fairy lights. I also got a dutch oven since my other one got melted to the old stove when it blew up.

I got one pair of Clarks at Macy's. They're pretty but they don't seem like they'll be sturdy but they didn't have the ones I liked. Mom came up with the idea of look at zappos.com. They DO have them. I might just buy three pair or something there and have them for the next few years.

I'm half packed up and ready to go. I don't really want to go but what can you do?

My writing career isn't off to a great start. I got another rejection this time but they did give reasons why they didn't like it (I.e. I would need to change the endings entirely and make the supernaturals evil....)
