cornerofmadness: a scarred young man wearing a santa hat (Default)
I had things to say but now I feel like hell so maybe not so much (I'm not even up to getting my word count, mostly just lying here going don't throw up, don't throw up). What I was going to say had to do with letting stories rest before editing it. Not as long as I've left Blood Red but still. In redoing this I have found some appalling errors (no wonder they said fuck now) like information changing three times in three paragraphs in the same scene and NO ONE caught it. I'm like I've been through this thing 1001 times. How could I have missed it?

Honestly some of these really quick authors (now that I'm on their newsletter list) make nervous. If you're churning out a half dozen or more novels a year, I have to wonder at the quality. Are they taking it fresh from draft one and running it to createspace? SHudders.

So rather than listen to my sour babbling have some writing links

From Alina: Who’s singing your song with all due respect to Anna, I know tons of people for whom first person is a deal breaker, yeah I don't get it either.

Great setting I'm big on setting as a rich part of the story

From Betty: Writing a great villain who doesn't need that
