Writerly Ways
Feb. 4th, 2018 09:25 pmI have nothing to say. Well I did but between test making, test grading and trying very unsuccessfully to put this house together again my ideas are gone. And it didn't help that friday-sunday morning I was sick. At first I thought it was the super rich food I had friday but that wouldn't take me out for nearly 48 hours. My sugar's been high so it might have been that + diabetic gastric paresis but whatever.
I will say, writing aside, Arch and Eddie's served up something I PRAY will make it onto their normal menu. Friday's special was braised beef and gnocchi. It was a little pricey (no more than Olive Garden) and gnocchi are a hard sell since I can make them but for some reason I went make that mine. Also their beer lines were down so I couldn't get the beer I wanted (sob, New Holland's Dragon Milk Stout is to die for) so I went for a drink special, a cinnamon mule. Culinary heaven. The cinnamon mule was crown royal apple, lime and ginger beer (and I've yet to find a ginger beer drink I don't like, moscow mules, dark and stormies, ginger beer from a bottle) mixed with a little local apple butter. OMG. I could have drank a half dozen of those. The braised beef and gnocchi was in a light cream sauce. The beef was melt in the mouth tender. Piles of onions and mushrooms sat on top of gnocchi larger than normal and light as a cloud (and that is no easy feat, let me tell you.) I think I'll write them and say put that on the menu all the time (and I'll gain 20 pounds more).
So bad to writing, let me say it's still going fairly well. Having all the accountability has really helped. I'm getting more confident in my Lost SF novella (not lost the TV show, lost as in being actually lost) though it still needs a reader.
Have some links (so I can go back to making exams. sob)
From around the web - January’s publishing news. (it's a collection of several articles)

And from Betty - fantasy race podcast I haven't listened to this yet.

using dragon software to write faster I've used software like this and find it awkward to remember to say comma period etc and don't get me started on fantasy names.
staying motivated to finish (God knows I need this one)
giving it all away (this one is one free and cheap reads, something I wanted to talk about on Jana's blog. I need to read this one over and really contemplate it)
what to do when your creativity hits the wall several of us should read this one.
how to capture ideas for your novel
who owns your domain name (I better check this out myself)
Yearly Goal -
15015 / 100000 words. 15% done!
I'll worry about the individuals next time when I'm not worrying about exams.
