One of those days were you need a hug
Aug. 31st, 2018 09:27 pmIt's been a long, sad, scary day.
It started with an email from our university president talking about a few people being cut and their jobs not being filled because we have no money so now we're all back to worrying about not having a job.
From there it went to learning that the ultrasound major no longer wants the second half of A&P and changed it back in MARCH but never told US. That really affects how many classes we need, AND how much money I'll make. I'm calling in their dean to discuss this. Frankly what would help would be to return to the 1 semester A&P class that I used to teach when I first started here so those students would be more well rounded and leave the two semester for the nurses and pre meds.
I come home and talk to one of my neighbors to find out it's worse than them just not fixing my porch, his septic tank is broken with NO top and we have kids running around here. He had no toilet for a MONTH with the water running under the place non stop which you think these idiots would jump on because THEY pay the water bill.
So they're bound and determined to let this place fall to ruin. I need OUT of here but if I buy a house am I going to lose my job by this time next year? I can't rent anywhere else because everywhere else is WORSE.
So I don't know where to go, what to do, and will be I be out of job. Do I start looking around (yes, I guess so) but I'm getting too old to start over. I'm pretty damn upset.
Now I'm too sad to go away for the weekend and I feel too nervous about money to go and spend the night someplace.
To top it off, my 1920s steampunk was rejected but they liked the story and want me to try again.
I could really use some luck
