To be honest the Jackson Apple festival is flat out lame and always has been. Today I finally found where the crafters were (after 14 years) and it was...SO underwhelming. I think there was less than a dozen of them and pretty all of them were the same country crafts that it could have been ONE person. And then there were two jewelry makers who were not even close to the same level. One was very beginner with extremely simple bracelets and earrings, not bad but nothing anyone with a day's training in how to bead couldn't make and the other handling silver and gemstones. I didn't plan to buy anything but I did, a bracelet of blue sapphire and tanzanite (very reasonably priced).

The rest of the festival is nothing but midway food and games. Honestly it's geared to young families and nothing else. I bought an overpriced funnelcake because the apple dumpling vendors didn't bother to be there in the afternoon.

And I'm surprised I did that much. I woke up more exhausted than when I went to bed. It didn't help that

spook_me woke me at 430 to talk about the story. Eye roll.

Also, Mom, I'm not missing festivals to stay home and clean my place. Just saying. That is not a good alternative.
