My inner writer is well fed
Jan. 30th, 2021 10:15 pmLast night was back to fandom being good after being so angry all day. I was working on what I plan to be one of the bigger fan stories this year and I’m not posting it until it’s done. Two reasons, one I know sometimes I don’t finish WIPs and I’m tired of doing that to fans. Honestly I mostly stopped that a decade ago but I did it a couple of times last year with Prodigal Son (but finished all) and two, I’m hoping we do another big bang this year. I’m always hungry for fan art for my stories.
Anyhow, it’s canon divergent in a major way and you’re always worried about those stories. They can be too far from canon (this isn’t that far but enough) and not reach a readership you’d want it to. Anyhow I was telling my sprint group on Discord about it and they literally gushed and made me tell them more for like a half hour. I should get this much excitement for my actual stories. Regardless, I smiled a lot.
I finished my learning module on netiquette for online classes. Man I wish I could post those learning points in every fan forum everywhere, not that I imagine it will help. It’s easy to be cruel when you know you’ll never meet the other person (and some people can be cruel even when they know they will like a certain GA rep, I mean my god!) . Got my half assed ‘reflection’ turned in. I don’t do online classes but one and half of that won’t apply because I don’t do discussions much, or at least ones that will cause controversy. This week will be more helpful, the underprepared student (though I do object to the idea of multiple tries on homework until they get it right. I’ve seen them rely on that and then want it on the exams, the lab etc. I’d rather do multiple similar things to give them more chances)
I finally got the polar bear holiday porch thing back in the shed. I swear to god there is a fairy dirtying dishes. I’m like can you possibly HELP ME wash them?

How did this Snowflake challenge go? Good, I think. On the down side, I just didn’t have time to go visit as many other creators as I often do. Hell I failed to even comment as a mod on one of my days. I didn’t expect to be this overwhelmed this semester. I have to remember I’m doing the best I can when it comes to that. I enjoyed the topics even if some were challenging (like the remix one. I’m surprised I got that done so fast). I do want to go back and look at some of the creations for that and the general create something ones. I’m always glad to do this challenge. I think next year I want to be more interactive (and that might make others more interactive with me in return).
As it was I came out of this with cover art for a story and some new icons so that right there is a huge win. Thank you.
