Day Three of the deluge
Aug. 12th, 2021 11:06 pmMom and I met Lucky Uncle and his wife at the casino. It's the first time I've been back since Covid shut it down and they remodeled everything. I can say I am NOT impressed. I like there is a better demarcation between smoking and non-smoking (I prefer my OH casino which allows zero smoking) but all the old machines are on the non-smoking side. In one way that's okay because they're cheaper to play but on the other I get to see nothing new.
Online they were bragging on their chef for the food court. I hate to say it while the face lift looks nice on the place the food was infinitely worse than before. It's more money for less choice. I am not paying 14$ for a tiny plate of Chinese food. We were contemplating just going out of the casino and across to the mall to eat. I wish we had. We decided on the food court special of the month, a bacon wrapped deep fried hot dog with caramelized onions and smoked onion aioli. It was okay but not worth the price and while there were caramelized onions in the ad there were barely cooked onions on the dog. Sigh.
I lost my money, not exactly unexpected at a casino but it was fun. The drive home less so. Another massive storm. Trees were down everywhere. It's been going on for almost five hours now and we keep losing power.
