Finishing strong

I got up at a decent hour. I got to the gym as promised and did my 20 minute ride. On my way out I saw my primary care doctor at the Y and said hello. I went from the gym to the fancy donut shop (because of course I did. I deserved a damned donut!!) and then to the coffee house to write (it's amazing, if I don't try to write and watch tv I can do about 1K an hour. imagine that) And in comes my doctor again. I should have asked if she had gone to the Treatery for a donut too.

I came home and made my test for parasitology. That took almost all day but I got it done. I am happy.


Then I found out my cli-fi near-future story set here in the Hocking Hills was accepted into the anthology. WHEE!! I barely had time to beta that one (I would still like someone to do a read through of that one!) Still it's the only sale this year but given all I sent out was 3 stories (one yes, one no, one never heard back)


The only sour note was ALL my fault. I've been wanting to do a burrata appetizer but kept forgetting. Tonight I did prosciutto wrapped dates to dip in it...only to find out there is a VERY short shelf life on that. Can we say spoiled + anaerobic bacteria gas production? Yes we can. That was an expensive mistake.

“He does love his dancing. We should probably kidnap Grace if she’s allowed to leave. She’ll just obsess over the student vote and the judging.”

“I don’t think the students are allowed to be there for that but what do I know?” Laura shrugged.

“Me either. Guess I should ask.” Alessia went back inside with Laura on her heels. Dan was in the corner talking to the artist who created some brightly colored art inspired by Nagel Duran Duran album covers. She pulled off the crimped hair look perfectly. A hint of jealousy crept up on Alessia.

“Do you even see Grace?” Laura asked

“Yeah, I’ll go ask her when she thinks she’ll be free. You can poke Dan or if he’s busy, we can go without him, just let him know we’re going.”
