Sometimes I swear I'm clear
Apr. 26th, 2023 11:04 pmbut then I realize by the responses, no I very much am NOT clear. Case in point, the problem teaching I mentioned yesterday is ALL in my head. it doesn't exist. It's my paranoia one of those things I need to deal with when I catch myself doing it.
That said, Ohio is trying to take a page out of DeSantis's sick playbook and those imagined problems will be literally criminal. Sigh.
In better news I found a house in my price range where I want to be so naturally there are problems. A) the house is from 1940 and I'm wondering if not older and it's obviously been added on to...badly B) old knob and tube wiring OUTSIDE the house which probably isn't even legal any more C) the back chimney is shorter than the roof of the house (which isn't up to code) D) one room had obvious water damage On the plus side I get my very own outhouse. No lie. I'd preserve that wood and decorate it for the holidays.
Seen walking past me today a young athletic looking man auburn hair to his shoulders and a red beard and I'm like, Hunter WHO let you out of my novel for the day? Get back in there. (literally he couldn't have been more my character if he tried)
What I Just Finished Reading:
Angel Vol. 1: Being Human by Bryan Edward Hill, one of the first stabs Boom took at Angel...it was okay.
Liar City - an eBook arc mystery/urban fantasy and definitely one of the more interesting things I've read.
The Creeping Shadow by Jonathan Stroud, thanks to under_the_silk_tree for reminding me of this series. Points to There Comes a Darkness below, they're about the same length. I've been working on the latter for months. I read this in days. I still love this series but it does seem like it might be ready to overreach a little, make the plot too big if you know what I mean.
Did You Hear What Eddie Gein Done? by Harold Schechter a graphic novel based on trial/hospital reports and newspapers about Ed Gein. Yeah it was creepy but we are talking about a dude who dug up dead women and decorated their excised genitalia and wore a woman leather suit
What I am Currently Reading:
There Comes a Darkness by Katy Rose Pool but ever so slowly. I'm never finishing this thing so long SOOOO long
Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
What I Plan to Read Next: The Joy Machine some star trek thing, and probably some of my new books from the festival
