Holiday Party
Dec. 2nd, 2024 11:09 pmThe dean had her holiday party today and I went because of free food...or at least free chocolate and cookies. Cookies are lunch, right? I did find out that I might be in trouble in the spring. I might be shy of the contractual credit hours because I'm usually over in the fall and it carries over. Apparently my sabbatical carries zero weight. Ugh. Not sure what is going to happen.
I spent most of the day (more than I intended) at work. I ran into a coworker who'll be a Galaxycon on Saturday too and he helped to ruin it further. He said last time he waited THREE hours just to get in the damn door. Double ugh. I may go up and spend the night so I can just roll out of bed early and get there. There are so many celebrities at this thing and I want see ...none of them because that means more hours in a line. How to know I'm getting old and cranky? THIS!
I did get some cyber monday buying done (for me, gifts for me) and I finished using all the critiques on the novel...which I feared would take forever took a few hours at best. I do miss one of the members who recently left as they were excellent at reworking awkward sentences.
I spent WAY too much pissing around with the new Popsugar Reading challenge 2025 I will be honest I am not thrilled about the prompts this year but after a few hours sitting with them I got happier about them but there are a few I am refusing to do: anything recced by a fucking AI chatbot (I know that Amazon does this all the time and it's usually another book in the series so I'm just doing that) a book with a goodreads star rating less than 3. Um WHY? Unless it's a brand new book, unrated, why the fuck would anyone want to read a book with less than a 3 start rating and a book you've been avoiding (look I've been avoiding it it's because I don't want to read it. I might jam in a ghost book that I've been putting off due to time)
Let's continue with the Music Monday and we're sharing songs that contain a certain color, starting with the rainbow and picking up a few of the other biggies down the road.
