But there might be help. for those of us with severe PMS (right now I'm in super bitch mode that likes to cycle with suicidal whiner mode so for the love of god do NOT provoke me), especially ladies in their 30-40s there's something out there that might help. My doc just said this might even help reduce the cysts on my ovaries (the one now hurts so bad I can hardly stand up straight. I walk around a hand over my gut, with I'm sure you were ALL dying to know). It's a plant progesterone and you can ask the pharmacist for it (it's about 30$ a tube but you only rub TINY amounts on your skin daily so it lasts for months). One name it goes by is Progester-E. I'm going to try it (it's hormonal so it'll take a while to work).

We got hit by more tornados today, none here but boy did it rain and wow the frogs are singing. They won't shut up. Obviously they didn't get the DO NOT IRRITATE ME missive.

I also gave up my Madison vacation idea this week. ALL the hotels are over 130$/day. I think not. I'll save my money for St. Louis.

Eeek, sorry about the PMS but that's great news about the Progester-E. Most of the time my PMS isn't too bad but I do have some friends that it would help. Thanks for the info, Dr. Dana!

I'm sorry you had to give up the Madison vacation. That sucks. :(

Here's hoping you can get that creme. I'm lucky my pms is manageable but I know there are days I want to just murder everyone in sight so I can imagine how wonderful it would be to have something to take care of that.

Sucks about Madison but I don't blame you for saving the money

that's why I figured I'd post it. This isn't an uncommon problem. It's also supposed to help with heavy flow too.

I'm only vaguely disappointed.

Then I have my uses after all!

As much as I hate how sick I feel during that time of the month, the thought of taking hormones scares me more than the thought of horrid PMS. Being a woman sucks.

taking hormones is always risky. It would be better if I could take the pill but I can't and I'm getting too old to take them. This is different but it's still hormonal

i saw that but I was totally exhausted since the storm kept me up half the night the day before. Now I felt like I didn't sleep at all

Don't really have PMS (my husband might disagree!) but I hope it works for you.

How are you doing? I've been so busy that I've been totally under the radar for about 2 weeks.

yes I noticed it's been quiet on your end. Hope work lightens up.

I'm just insane with the job thing and packing. And PMS isn't making my life easier.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that this creme works! I only have a vague idea of just exactly how much pain you endure, but I know from my own experiences that I would pay any amount of money to alleviate the agony. So I'm so happy that you might have an option to help you out. *hugs*

thanks and the stuff's over the counter so if you want to give it atry you shuld be able to find it. Affording it is another matter since OTC means insurance doesn't help. Sigh.

Lucky for me, I can take birth control, and do. From the day I started taking it, I've had maybe 1% of the pain of my normal cramps. *thanks God and the miracle of modern science*

It's too bad you can't get insurance to help out, but at least it's not $30 for something that only lasts a week, or a month. If it lasts for several months, that $30 breaks down. Small comfort, but at least it's some. :)

pretty much and if it works I'd pay twice that.
