Ice and snow
Jan. 12th, 2018 11:04 pmI love the latter but the former bites it. So luckily my second lab was a short one and I could leave to go back to Kroger's to get food that could be eaten cold that I was too brain dead to get yesterday. Holy crap it was like the end of the world. There was literally no produce, all the bananas, tomatoes, potatoes were gone.
So in preparation for the winter storm (as I lose power often) I'm currently cooking off a pound of bacon and a package of hot dogs, baking a pizza and making soup. I've already made hard boiled eggs and pasta. I picked up a ton of spiralized veggies (manager special as no one wanted to pay the high cost of these things). I have enough bread, peanut butter and jelly and cheese and mustard (not to mention egg salad and the tuna packets I picked up) to keep me going. I have apples (the only fruit left in the store which looked like the end of the world had come) and chips and lunch meat (I timed that right, there were 9 people behind me when I left the counter). I have smoked brisket and wings from Rowdy's and a rotissiere chicken plus a buy one get one free shrimp cocktail ring (so about 40 shrimps). I've made a huge pot of tea and a cold brewed pitcher of coffee is out on the porch. And no I didn't forget the toilet paper.
Thank god i didn't want milk but all that was left was buttermilk.
I think I'm set. I'm going to put the lighters by the candle, check the flash light batteries and go grab a stack of books. I think I'm ready for the storm (which it's still raining. and Oh thanks mother nature for going from 65 to 18 in 24 hours. You sadistic wench).
I was really afraid around 8 pm I was going to lose power because the ice storm was raining down slushies at a high rate. Now it's tiny snowflakes so I think I might be okay (here's hoping).
I have great new LED flashlights but I couldn't find them. I looked everywhere but then I thought did I actually put them away with the tools. I did. I hate when I actually do the right thing and forget I did it.

In your own space, create a fanwork. Make a podfic, an icon, a sketch, a meta, or a rec list. Arts and crafts. Cross stitch. Draft an essay about a particular medium. Put together a picspam or a fanmix. Write a review of book you love, a ship manifesto, a you-should-be-listening-to-this-band essay. Create something.
