One week down
Aug. 24th, 2018 08:41 pmThat went quick and smooth with the obvious exception of no internet so I have plenty of catching up to do with the online class this weekend.
Today I was corraled by three nursing students for an hour of just talking about life, their challenges (mostly medical between chronic disease and one of them is about to give birth like at any moment). I hope they live up to the promise they showed today. They were concerned about not finding my notes (somehow blackboard turned off something), they were determined to succeed.
If they are any sign of things to come, it's going to be a good class. (The nursing instructors agree. It looks like we have a good crop, fingers crossed).
I've received my draft covers for my Christmas short story. Honestly they're not my favorite, sort of Hallmark Romance cheese but I'm pretty sure that's what they're going for (because it sells). I can't share any of it yet but I will when I can.
On Monday I'll link you to the cover reveal for Blood Red Roulette Yay for gay Vegas vampires. This cover blows me away. I love it (and I appreciate that small presses allow the author SOME input on the covers which big publishing doesn't).
Kanda was ill most of the week. Someone suggested that maybe the dry food has gone bad. I can't believe I didn't think of that because it's a huge back and it's all protein. So for two days no dry food (he doesn't get much anyhow) and the vomiting/diarrhea has stopped. So tomorrow I'll give him a new bag.

I wish my majors would do more than stare at me in silence (they did that last year too and after a while it gets...creepy) but overall, it should be good. fingers crossed.
