Between yesterday and today all I've done is grade and make exams. I'm done with that now. Thank god because I need next week to catch up on Nano. I go back to OH tomorrow.

Today I went to my aunt and uncle's. They took in a stray cat, all black with copper/amber eyes and she is friendly as all get out. She feels like my Iktomi did, like mink. I hope she has a nice long life. She's a doll.

Then we were at my brother's all evening. I played the best game of Uno in my life, ending up with only 41 points in the end.

But that also means I've had almost no time to write. I FINALLY put a story here in my journal though. After all that whining about losing all my stories from before about 2007 because all I did was link out I realized I was STILL just linking out (to Ao3 this time which does seem more stable than those from 15 years ago).

Also I can not figure out WHY DW isn't crossposting to LJ but only with the write every day posts. Is it the picture? Is it teh cut text? I have no idea.

Here more of the story, Arria's chapter, time jumped a decade. I'm still unable to get her to do what I want. I dont' know why. Even the villain is easier to wrangle. Though all the back story I wrote the other day for one of the supposedly secondary character worked better than I thought. I assumed it was something I'd cut later but then I realized it paralleled the villain's story line

Arria stretched feeling the muscles in her back twinge a bit. She felt a bit more like she was fifty instead of twenty after that sparring match, she'd gone through with Siaq yesterday. Her sister was tiny but mighty, quick as a squirrel. Neske, their mentor in the cadre, had put them through their paces, no doubt of it. She glanced at the clock. She was going to be late if she didn't hurry. In the ten years since she and Mom had brought Zvon home, he hadn't gotten any more relaxed about certain things. Being late was one of them. With who his friends were, she'd have thought he'd learn to loosen up, given that Caeles couldn't be on time if his life depended on it.

She pulled on fresh clothes and all but jogged into town with Ui, Hoku and Nani clinging to her hair for dear life. Those crazy little magic eaters would have been better off just flying but they were lazier than Caeles's cats. She did have time, however, to stop at Sweetness and pick up a box of chocolates. She wanted to give them to Zvon now because he'd know she'd never forget his birthday and if she didn't want him to suspect there was a surprise party in the works, he'd need to get them now when she met him for lunch. There was a party, of course but it wouldn't be too hard to nudge Zvon to it. He had to go home sometime after all. He'd be a brat and go to a pub if he knew people were fussing over him. Zvon was like a feral cat most days, wanting love but also really wanting to bite the crap out of whoever got close. They hadn't been able to love that out of him. Maybe he'd been too damaged at a young age.
