Furious at self
Dec. 19th, 2018 08:57 pmToday was good. Took Mom shopping for booze and food. That worked out well. Accidentally double dipped on the Bailey's Irish cream and forgot the vermouth.
Then the evening went downhill on a sled. I set my laptop on the table, picked it up and jostled it a bit but somehow in spite of hitting nothing, of not being dropped, somehow the flashdrive was bent up to nearly 90 degrees. Naturally it's dead. That means a) I can't work on anything b) I LOST about a half dozen stories that for some reason weren't back up on the hard drive or only partially backed up. I am furious at forgetting to back up to two places. I can't really do the cloud reliably thanks to my crappy internet.
I am most furious about losing ELD's holiday story (especially since it was part of a larger thing now gone) and my remix story which MAYBE I had printed before I left home. If not, I'll have to retype it asap, such as I can remember it because it's due but I think I had made the edits and tossed the print out because I had finished it before I left. And no matter what, this will never be as good as it was. I lost the beginnings of something new. And I lost every edit I'd made for

Date: 2018-12-20 02:37 am (UTC)ETA - apparently it might be possible to solder it but there's no way of getting it to a shop prior to my deadlines both at work and here. At least I can find the work stuff in my hard drive
