How Disappointing

1. I got nearly nothing done on my day off other than laundry. Even writing didn't go well.

2. I found out last night that my comic book store is closing as of Saturday so hopefully it'll be open long enough on Saturday for me to get my last books. I am very sad about this.

3. The cat came back outside and I can't find a place to take him/her.

4. I can't find that scene in Angel.

Okay that's a lot of disappointment. Thanks to the people who tried to help me find it. I don't really have time right now to rewatch it to see if it actually happened and it somehow wasn't transcribed. dragondydreams did find the part about calling Giles in Shell and Willow being out of touch (something that was in the story I want to post) but I can't find him asking for help. Yet I swear it happened. evil_little_dog remembers it too, literally exactly how I remember it. "We're on our own.' I swear it happened but I'll be damned if I can find it.

I know I used fanfic to work through things that really bothered in canon. Witness these three instances. How stupid/potentially dangerous Angel's spell was in Home (or how the fuck did Connor, with zero science training managed to walk into a mall with an unconscious woman and wire up bombs using propane tanks and car batteries); Andrew convincing Giles and the Slayers that Angel, Spike and the rest had gone to the dark side and no help was sent; Spike's rape attempt (which all but killed my love for my favorite character because I've been in that situation for real and it is unforgivable for me). I have SEVERAL stories dealing with these things so if that phone call never happened why in the world do I (and ELD) remember it happening?


and in the last of my sound tracks this is from a nano two years ago that got seriously derailed. I just couldn't find the villain of the plot somehow. It needs a crap ton of retooling to make it work but I do like the characters and some of what i have. It's pure fantasy. Tenaldi is a young plant magician tending the queen's poison garden. He finds an ancient warrior who has been magically in stasis for years and has been revived but not entirely sane and Tenaldi's best friend was fun. She's a warrior mage. I must have really wanted music to write to (or was really pissing away nano time) because there's nearly 50 songs.

The "We're on our own" phrase is in the Shells transcript. It's that phrase exactly, at the end of the scene when Angel is told Willow is out of touch, after which he throws his phoen at the wall (scene 13):

I was under the impression there was some further contact later, too, but all I can find is the episode right before the two-part finale, where they went to Rome to 'save' Buffy from the immortal but only encountered Andrew (and a bunch of W&H folks). I think the comics retconed that later to say Buffy was never actually there, Andrew was just giving them the run-around again covering for a look-alike, but the end result I guess in-universe was that they were too put off to try again?

Thanks yeah. So it happened earlier than I thought but the outcome is the same. Angel thinks that Giles, Buffy etc have cut him loose and aren't going to help him ever again (which is reinforced when he and Spike go to Italy and Andrew tells them Buffy moved on and they needed to as well)

Thanks yeah. I honestly thought this was about the apocalypse but obviously I remembered wrong even from the get go (since the old fan fic in question was written less than a few months later) but yeah I can see Angel thinking they had turned their back on them.

I agree, I've heard that the comics retconned it to Andrew talking out his ass about Buffy (man I am still angry about having to accept him as a hero)

Always! But we're working on my left sleeve so this was the first of like 6-7 sessions. Did a lot of drawing and designing and did 3 hours of lines. It'll be another WIP on my life for a while. xD
