A Not So New Story
Jul. 13th, 2005 12:54 pmBut I'm betting my friends list hasn't read it. I originally started posting this in Jan 02 and the first 10 chapters were written in days, mostly as a reaction to two things a) the sickness that was canon Spuffy (because we all want to see the show's heroine degrading herself and the man she's with) and b) baby Connor whom I despised (surprised? No, I did not always like Connor) Then after awhile I thought maybe the story was too angry, too OOC so I set it aside.
When I went back to it and looked at it, I saw two things, that if I struck out the angry stuff, I had what I originally wanted, a Giles story that depicted his past and how it was becoming his future. Also, I saw that if I tightened up the back story on the original character I'd have a much better piece. I've never taken an older story and totally rewrote it after it had been published (and ironically this was the first WIP I ever published at FFN and I never finished it). So I took out no less than 15 pages of crap, tightened it up and hey, it looks good. Might even send it back to the Giles award sites again now that it's much more worthy of being nominated.
So here it is, Forgiven, Not Forgotten. It's an AR of S6 of Buffy and S3 of Angel. Spuffy is over but Spike/Buffy are healthier friendship wise. Connor never came back from Quor-Toth but this is minor stuff story wise. Giles is the focus. Does contain some original characters.
This story is one in a series. The first story is set 100% in the Angelverse and you can find it here. It's called Shades of the Past and it does feature highly suggested but not graphic entity rape (poor Wesley)
