I appreciate all the support over the last few days.

Mom came through the surgery just fine (and is apparently a big fan of fentyl) The surgery was delayed so it was an all day affair. they took off the toe and cultures of the bone that remains to be sure it's not infected too.

Won't know if she'll need IV antibiotics or how long she'll be in the hospital. It'll depend on what the bone cultures show. So crosses fingers that the infection has NOT spread into the metatarsal because that's a much worse, much more costly in terms of quality of life

I will say the staff at this hospital are very kind and caring. You don't always see that so...

I have to say I don't understand stress eating. I'm just not wired that way. I've been nauseated and unable to eat for days. today after it was done I'm a little better. Had some pizza.

Given the amount of stress I'm under routinely it's a good thing I don't stress eat. I don't usually make up for it afterwards either
