My Parent's 40th!
Jul. 17th, 2005 11:51 pmMy parents had their 40th wedding anniversary/ Dad’s retirement/ DaD’s new garage party today. We had about 40 friends and relatives and more food than any normal group of people could eat. It was a good time in spite of two separate monsoons including one with lots and lots of lightning.
At one point during a lull in the storm, my brother asks, ‘what’s that on the garage wall.’ I said, ‘I think it’s a bat.’ I go and check and it’s a terrified field mouse clinging to the wall. I go to get dad. I’ve kicked off my shoes because it’s so wet. I figure Dad has to see this crazy mouse and we need to catch and move it (which we did) however, I forgot one important thing. The new garage is very smooth floored. It’s coated with water repellent. There’s plenty of water on the floor by the garage door. I hit that bare footed and it was like being on ice. I fell right on my ass and of course also hit a) my bad wrist which is swollen and my hand’s numb and b) my broken ankle which is now bruised and swollen again but the ankle didn’t hurt until now.
Of course the fact I had a half a case of beer probably accounts for the no pain. My cousin’s like I thought you were going to drink today. You’re not the least bit drunk. I’m like I’ve had over 12 beers and no you can’t tell. Hello, told you I could drink. That’s why I rarely do this.
My cousin also told me that she’s good friends with two people producing movies and TV shows (one of whom is working on CSI NY). She wants my screenplay to send to them. I’m like you wait until NOW to tell me this. She’s like I told you at Christmas. I thought she meant she had met these people once on a cruise. I had no idea she’s in daily touch with them. Oh yeah, that script is going (You hear me, ELD?)
I was in charge of the digital camera. Can’t wait to see how bad I did with it (Yes I know I can preview and I did but for the most part I just cruised by snapping candids.) If there is a picture of me that it’s too horrid I’ll pass it along.

Date: 2005-07-20 02:42 am (UTC)Yeah I did send it and ALL the character sheets. I was about to resend the script which is hovering at only 25 minutes (going by a min. per page) then remembered, I have no idea if you've found your wp program. It's too big to scroll in
