Not the homecoming I was hoping for

I got back down home without trial except for Kanda who spent three out of four hours of drive time nose to the corner ignoring me. Snicker. I get home to find out Dish isn’t working. Phone isn’t working. Internet isn’t working. My porch has peeled up and there are spiders everywhere. Not to mention my garden is filled with baby trees and weeds.

So I spend 2 hours on the phone with Frontier internet. First tech support hangs up on me after a 15 minute wait time. Second time through he says there’s no problems other than I haven’t paid and transfers me to payment. I’m like but I paid. They’re like you’re paid you need tech support. Send me back to tech support and then he agrees that maybe a) they weedwhacked through my internet AGAIN or b) something ate thru it under the house (likely since another vermin nest had blown up the vents in my bedroom and bathroom. But since there’s an installation freeze in my area they refuse to come out for 2-3 weeks.

Tomorrow I’m calling a manager but not before I call Spectrum internet/cable and see if they’re finally in this area, if so fuck Frontier and Dish. If not I’m calling Direct for the TV anyhow. If nothing else I’m getting to watch all the DVDS I took home and never watched. First up, Castlevania. Had it since Christmas but man 4 episodes is a season? Thanks for nothing Netflix. Your philosophy of story telling is pure shit.

And now I have an 8 week online class, three sections, 70 students, and I can’t finish setting it up. Guess I’m going to have to live in my office so fuck you Frontier.

ETA Since I rage-typed this last night I’ve called Spectrum. They said we don’t run cable to cow pastures. Okay not in so many words but that’s the gist of it. I’m at the library now (had to go to Jackson for groceries any how) I’ll be at my office late for the foreseeable future. All I know is I won’t be doing my vacation pics for a while. Sorry.

Geez, that sucks. But hey, capitalism says that private corporations are the BEST choice for providing internet, etc., right? *rolls eyes* I follow another writer who lives in rural Ohio, and he often talks about how miserably slow his internet service is for much the same reason you mention here (i.e. cow pastures).

That said, I lived in a low-rent, down-at-the-heel urban neighborhood for twenty years, and we couldn't get FIOS because the company flat out said it wasn't profitable for them to run cable, so at least they're up front about being thieving, opportunistic assholes only in it for themselves.

Um, that probably wasn't comforting? Lol!

What I mean to say is, I'm sorry you're having to come home from vacation to deal with all of this shit that you shouldn't have to deal with, ESPECIALLY since you're already right back to work.

Yep Spectrum was upfront about it, there's not enough people, we can't profit which fair enough but sucks to be me.
