Play night

cornerofmadnessOne of the reasons L's been so worked up is that she was in a play this weekend (she doesn't multi-task well) in addition to all the other nonsense a work. It's community theater. It's not good for the most part but they're having fun so it's all good, right?
The rest of our merry band of women (and one man) went out for dinner and it's been the best dinner in a while mostly because L wasn't there. We're all friends with L but in spite of having so many outside interests (and she does) all she ever wants to talk about was work. I get SO tired of that. We barely talked about work.
Hell we talked TV. EB and her wife like some of the same things I do (but they like reality tv where I do not) but they are as disappointed in Batwoman as I am. Sigh. I do hope it gets better. I've only seen two or three at this point. BB likes the same Danish show I do Professor T which is an interesting thing. We're all on the fence about Stumptown. SOmehow Prodigal Son flew under their radar. 'Wait? Michael Sheen is in a TV show?' Oh, well, let me tell you ALL about this. Had them programming reminders into their phones by the end.
The play was at the artisan shop. I have NO idea how this place stays in business. It's on the rattier side of town and there wasn't that much IN it to buy nor was any of it displayed well except for the charcoal sketches from horror movies. Those were cool.
The play itself was cute, kinda funny if you like comedies that are nothing but misunderstandings and jumping to conclusions. One of the actresses was about 30 years too old to play a 15 year old (you do what you can in a small town) b ut wow was she bad. I mean BAD. I haven't seen acting that bad in years. But they were all having fun and most of us there are friends of the actors so you go in with that level of expectation
as for my foot, the tens unit, the numbing medication, the ibuprofen, the bracing, NONE of it is even touching the pain. and because I'm hobbling, it kicked off the plantar fasciitis and spasmed up my calf muscles. Ready to chew that leg off.
Also got a message on AO3 saying my take on Prodigal Son needed to be canon. Blushes (and yes I agree because also arrogant)
