It's not good news
Nov. 30th, 2019 01:40 pmThis is a sad Caturday. Kanda's liver is 'on fire' according to the vet. I picked up some meds in hopes of calming it down and I need to get him eating so his liver won't go into ketolipidosis which will be fatal.
She gave me a feeding tube to see if I can get him to eat that way if I can't entice him to otherwise eat. I'm hoping the zofram, the anti-nausea meds, will help.
She wants him back in two days if I can't make him eat or two weeks if I can. Hopefully he'll make it otherwise, Kanda won't see Christmas.

Date: 2019-11-30 10:36 pm (UTC)This is a different situation, I know, but when our Bob was so sick (cancer, so v. different, I know), I'd puree a combo of wet cat food, canned people tuna or chicken with some of the water from the can, and real chicken gravy (from a jar). He liked it a lot, though we had to feed him with a feeding syringe. It gave him some of the hydration he needed, and he seemed to particularly like the chicken flavor. I don't know if that's Kanda's thing, but I thought I'd mention it, just in case.
