Writerly Ways
Dec. 29th, 2019 07:02 pmYear in review, a Year in planning.
What is there to say? You've heard me whine enough this year about the bad head space which is true. 2019 lasted an entire decade in and of itself and it was a pure dumpster fire. I didn't have enough in me to world build but I kept writing via fanfic.
Yep here is what I did word count wise
33642 / 100000 words. 34% done!
I put it in an obnoxious color because I failed badly. Even my nano was fanfic. Sigh.
But I DID publish three stories in 2019 and you can find them here
Modified and Sacred
Ghosts Gangsters and Garland (which could really use some reviews!)
Santa's Little Library And yes you haven't really heard me talking about this because it's the last thing I'll be publishing with Dreamspinner. Between the implosion of DSP AND RWA I'm glad I was already planning to put Jana to bed in the next few years.
However if we put fanfiction into the picture, I more than made my 100K goal. For Like Stone (Buffyverse) and Come Undone (Prodigal Son) alone I wrote 130K. Let THAT sink in for a moment. Yeah I'm scared too.
I've written 20 stories in a new fandom (Prodigal Son), I've written in WAY too many writing challenges (which I will not be doing next year). I'll be along in a day or two with all the year in review fanfic stuff
My Goals for new year
1. rewrite/shop around my urban fantasy YA Splinters of Silver and Cold Iron I've said this for what? the last decade? god...
2. Expand my paranormal FLorida based novella
3. Finish These Haunted HIlls, my m/m paranormal romance set in the Hocking Hills
4. write my Boston based UF story for nano
5. finish my Physicians of Myddia research and pub it
6. Ignore Come Undone who's whispering we need a sequel (you aren't even finished yet) and commit to one fanfic, doing another ancient Buffyverse story for
wipbigbang but maybe find one that is more finished than Like Stone was....
That's it, keeping it simple. Yeah I need to. Also I could use beta readers for any or all of them.
