This week keeps seeing me leave the writing until I'm so tired I don't manage to do much. Anyway, I wrote down some story ideas I had, and I continued a fluffy little fanfic I started the other day, with all of 96 words.

I actually have gotten some writing done this week...
I picked up a WIP and got 2030 words on the 18th and 2410 on the 19th and I finished it. I finished up the never-ending Big Bang today with 1254. Go me!!

Day 20 - Writing was a struggle today, but after fiddling and panicking, drabbling and doing some editing, I squeezed out 1147 words. Not quite sure how.

About 200 words so far, just dabbling at some drawer fic WIP, but I think I'll keep it at that and rather go to bed. I'm definitely too old by now to miss one night's sleep.

Aw, man, that's how I spent Sept.-Nov., so I can definitely relate, my friend. I hope you catch a break (and that it's not a literal break, of the bone-related variety ;-).

We went to see mummies today, so there was writing first thing in the morning on the Bond/Q story, to which I added 664 words. Yay! (Also, the mummies were awesome!)

Three more pages longhand. This is all still the same scene, more or less. Me when I first wrote a lot of this back many years ago "*handwaves* I'll explain later" Me now "dear goddess there is so much to explain and also the more I explain the more other parts NO LONGER MAKE SENSE" (tbf, I had mostly identified the parts not making sense before I started writing this particular explanation scene but there is so much other explaining to do. Why can't worldbuilding just sort of... transfer into readers' heads without me having to write it all out and then figure out how much is too much to tell?)

Life still weird, trying to make writing one of my coping strategies for once.

Oh god, I know this feeling. The last novel I was under contract for had been started in 1993 and got published in 2018. I had plenty of that (this is why I sometimes take breaks with fanfic so my poor overworked brain can use someone's world building for a while)

21st: Put some more notes into Scrivener and faffed about. Alibi levels of editing. I'm planning to resume actual writing tomorrow, with a view to completing the first draft by next Friday. *fingers crossed*

And I hear you about February being exhausting. It's been a really long year this month.
