I was sent the academic calendar four times today. That's how long it took them to get it right (literally had summer 1 starting on Memorial Day. Um....) And then got the ADA blurb for my syllabi today. Those were do in weeks ago. I had to pull them down and redo them all. If nothing else I'm almost 100% done getting everything online and now to make some first week assignments and just toss my hands up with the now SEVEN week micro class in Pathology. I have no idea how anyone is meant to learn anything in that but I'm teaching two sections of it.

It was a night of nightmares and clenching my fists so hard the arthritis has been a waking nightmare today. Also I don't think I'll get to see much in the way of the Perseids tonight. It got cloudy but I'll give it a go in another hour or so.

What I Just Finished Reading: Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater. Loved it. Really I had only two quibbles with it (beyond my own inability to remember the Raven books which I loved but finished a few too many years ago for me to remember squat.)

What I am Currently Reading: Off the Rails by Sine Peril & Bonds of Brass. I usually read ebooks when I eat out since at home I read in the tub (not e-friendly) or in bed (and e-books fuck your brain chemistry ruining sleep). I haven't been eating out obviously and so not reading that many. I might have to set aside a half hour a day to read the ebook. As it is I'm scrambling to make up the portion of my Popsugar challenge that I planned to do as ebooks. I did find one by a journalist so that's good. I'm sure I can find more if I keep digging into the boxes of books.

What I Plan to Read Next: Something for the Popsugar challenge for sure. Looks like Therapy by Jonathan Kellerman (a library book sell but it smells like mildew so maybe not. I'm allergic)

And that fandom meme

N: Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom (or a fandom of choice). I'm going to do just Prodigal Son for this one since it's a new fandom rather than a decade or more old. But in many ways it would go for several of them. I'd rather see more case fic vs endless relationship fic. There's nothing wrong with the latter. I surely right it but what I love more than anything are stories that look like they could be part of the show.

I'd love to see more collaboration between artists and authors. Being I'm older, I remember the paper zine days of fandom where every story had art. I miss that in the modern rendition of fandom. That's one of the cool things about the big bangs, one of the reasons I do them so often, I get to see stories with art.
