I finally finished my [community profile] wipbigbang. I'm not happy with how I ended it. It probably needs more but it's ended reasonably and seeing as I started this thing in 2003, I am happy it's finally done. (to be fair I abandoned it in 2003 and haven't thought much about it until two years ago)

Speaking of geeky things, I finally saw The RIse of Skywalker. Eh, it was vaguely entertaining. It was better than the second one. Somehow mom guessed Rey's secret. But much like the prequels, I've seen them once and feel little call to watch them again. One thing SW has always suffered from was a lack of world building. This tried actually making the Jedi the religion it was claimed to be back in a New Hope but it was too little too late. At least Poe and Finn were better used.

I do find one good thing about Rey though. A new generation of girls finding a heroine that spoke to them because she was definitely popular with them.

Earlier today two fawns (who are WAY too small, born too late, I fear for them) were under the balcony eating the weeds. They were watching me and playing with me. They were so curious as to what was that behind the glass. (I was watching thru the downstairs window). And I saw a juvenile squirrel jump, grab a sunflower, bit the head off and it's now sitting on the flower bed shredding the flower so he can eat the young seeds.

U: Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.

Let's see Buffyverse. Rupert Giles - He's intelligent and he was caring, becoming a father figure to many of them (up until they screwed him up which can be tagged onto every character in this verse)

WIllow Rosenberg - She was so much like me that I identified with her hard.

Connor - he had such potential (98% of it wasted) but I found the history they gave him endlessly fascinating.

Fullmetal Alchemist - Roy Mustang - dashing, intelligent and crafty, also he had fire, literally. What's not to love?

Maes Hughes -funny, the first time I watch it I didn't like him because again, intelligent crafty, loving and funny as hell

Riza Hawkeye - Smart, loyal and independent, she's fantastic.

Lucifer - Lucifer Morningstar - because he's just so flamboyant, arrogant, hot as hell and yet nuanced as a the devil

Mazikeen - Loyal, protective and she just plain kicks ass.

Elle - sweet, smart, geeky and enthusiastic

Prodigal Son - Malcolm Bright - It's not a surprise I have a soft spot for the damaged ones and Malcolm is as damaged as they come. But he's also caring, empathetic, deeply lonely and sweet. Also he's a very good representation of mental health issues but also that sufferers CAN be productive members of society.

Gil Arroyo - Another warm, loving and loyal man. I don't even like hugs but I would love to get a Gil hug. He took a broken boy under his wing and nurtured him. He has protected the entire family to his own detriment.

Edrisa Tanaka - Smart, funny, dorky and enthusiastic. Again I see myself in her. That said I do hope they tone down the overt flirtations on the job. It's a bit much.
