For the writers and artists out there, do you ever try to write/draw something from one of your dreams. In my case most of what I'd get would be horror. Case in point, last night's dream. My usual lost in a labyrinthine old house dream morphed into lost in a labyrinthine cruise ship was new for me. I've never been on a real cruise ship. I got the idea that I was part of the medical team. I don't remember much. I do remember being upset that a door was locked to me and when I got in there, a bunch of furry piglets were running around. Later I was sitting with my feet over the edge of the boat when Trump comes in and sits next to me, leaning on my shoulder and then he lies down across my lap and my friend and I screamed Never Touch Me! Thank God I woke up.

Now I wouldn't to draw or write that dream but there have been times I would like to try to write a dream. I really haven't done it yet other than maybe a snippet here or there. Have any of you tried to create art from your dreams? How did it work for you? I've seen people draw from their dreams and it's been pretty neat.

And I did write an original freebie today. You can read it on AO3 right here. It's got a demon and it's called Taken by Surprise.

OMG, that is a nightmare! Just, bad touch, bad touch!

I have only tried to capture my actual dreams in a blog journal entry but they have all mostly slipped away as I tried to write. And my dreams are usually boringly normal so no real desire to make fiction out of them.

A lot of my early stories, such as Wizard of the Sun and Noble, were inspired by dreams. But it's been ages since I had any SFF dreams, darn it.

I'm reading your story. Do you want to know about typos? If no, then disregard what follows this!! :D That was great, short and just scary enough!

I just blogged about this, but yes, I do write dreams! Not a *lot*, most of my dreams don't make good stories, exactly, though I do dream in narrative a lot, but it's not always very sensible narrative. Still, I've gotten a handful of very good stories out of dreams over the years, including the one I wrote just a few days back. :3 Never drawn from a dream, though. I should try that!
