I'm having another bad day. My left leg is entirely numb and keeps giving out on me. I am going to have to go see a neurologist. I think I scared the students today because the way it goes out is very sudden and I nearly fall. I know it's a radiculopathy most likely from nerve impingement by the osteophytes in my lumbar spine.

However, my arms are a little numb too. I have neck arthritis too and I'm hoping it's that. There are some other things it could be and none of them are good (including TIA thanks to my diabetes).

By the way, thanks for all the concern over the tooth. It actually is painless (I think the nerve is dead from the root canals on the ones around it) my tongue hurts from being cut on the filling. I'm much more worried about an infection in that open tooth hole.

And thanks for chiming in on the would you follow a ridiculous premise. The answer is yes most of you would if the characters are good.

Hey is anyone here doing nanowrimo?

And oh in other annoying news, a former student (Now doctor) shared this and I shared it on Twitter here. (am too lazy to embed the pic) FIGS which is a big scrubs retailer decided the way to market their scrubs to a largely female market, by treating us as too fucking stupid to even know how to hold a book. I don't have words enough for my rage.

I am sorry it was a bad day.

I can see why you're angry about that retailer. I am not even in the medical profession and I am furious. I am tired of marketing for women that's supposed to be "cute" or "funny". I wish more retailers would market to women like they do to men.

I have such a low tolerance for gendered marketing and products in general. Especially since the attitude tends to be "it's cute or funny". When it just perpetuates gender norms.

There are obviously exceptions to this rule. Usually when the marketing subverts the norm. Like when Old Spice did those over the top, tongue in cheek ads a few years back. But those are far and between.
