the little annoyances
Aug. 22nd, 2005 11:26 amlast night a cold front came thru so I wanted to turn off the a/c and open the windows, even sacrificing some clean wooden spoons as window stoppers (I'm not too keen on having a bed near window at a level anyone could reach into). Problems:
A) nothing I do makes the a/c fan turn off, not even turning it to off (that made it cycle MORE) so I cranked it up to 90 so it wouldn't kick on
B) open windows = MUCH more road noise
C) it smelled like a family of skunks were living outside my bedroom window (entirely possible since it doesn't normally stink here)
So, in spite of it only being in the 50's, I'm shuttered up in the house since I just gave up on the idea.
In ironing my pants for work, I noticed my new and much loved silk/linen slacks have gone to that bally-snaggy thing in the crotch and other wear points. ARGH. Surely clothes should last more than a few months! Well I'll go with the thought no one should be looking up there any how.
And on that sordid note, wish me luck that all the media works, that I can figure out the powerpoint projector and I don't do something embarrassing oh and that there's a working clock in the classroom since I can't really wear watches.
