It's Mom's birthday

We went to the casino. Sadly they reinstated smoking. It was pretty bad. I lost. Mom on the other hand won a few hundred bucks. We had fun at least and it was nice driving around at night and seeing the lights.

Other than that I've been writing especially since Sysann posted about trees with no gifts (unfortunately that post is locked) of course the few I can fill have no relations to one another so I can't use them for a couple of trees. Ah well. I'm doing about 4 or 5 shorts because I really do want to work on my long fic.

I had more to say but it's all gone so I'll just say happy holidays in case I don't get a chance to get online tomorrow.

Ack sorry, it's mostly flocked because I'm joking about my own tree first and my silly sense of humor is more of a friends-only matter. I'd be happy to put up a flocked for you textarea post of the second half that you could copy into your own journal, but it tends to outdate itself quickly, so maybe just linking to the spreadsheet might be a good way to increase visibility? :)

If you hover over the naming field of line B you can click a down arrow and make it sort from A to Z so it'll tell you where the giftless trees are. :)

I'm glad you had fun with your mom at least, even if you lost. The smoking though... sorry about that, too. ---

Casinos are exempt from smoking rules in almost every state (but oddly not in Ohio) I don't know about NY (do you even have gambling there)

Oh, you know, I hadn't thought of that! Yes, we have casinos here. And now we have some that are run by the state or whoever, as well as those on the Indian reservations. I wasn't thinking that those might be exempt. That might be the case here, too.

Oh no, I'm sorry, I did read about that maybe a week or so after it happened, but had such a bad cold that I couldn't put together a remotely appropriate reaction to how badly things were going for you and then another week had passed and I felt bad because I hadn't said anything earlier. - Add in my usual "I can't with internet right now" phases, and here we are. I do love talking to you, I just had no idea how to start again. You've had and still do have my fullest sympathy for what happened and I hope things get better, though it sounds really scary. --- In case of doubt, always just message me. I do have (sometimes long) offline phases, but in that case I'd just get back to you when I'm back. :)
