Holiday cards that is. If you would like a holiday card from me, let me know. Just DM me your addy if you think I don't have it (and if I've lost it, I'll dm you). If you're more comfortable with ecards dm me an email.

I tried to do Shop Small Saturday and one of the shops I wanted to go to was closed (and probably forever I think then again it was not going to last, over priced donuts after all), the flower shop had neat stuff but nothing I needed and the soap shop well damn, just don't need more soap. The rest is all country crafts and no one in my family or circle of friends likes it. So I hit the coffee shop and wrote. I'm really going good on this novel. I still want beta readers for this at some point.

I hit the gym and...it went badly. I had to back down the exercise level on the bike because I was so worn out or week and that didn't feel good. I need to do more and better (I have been lax in November for the obvious nano reasons)

Then I came home to the news of Irene Cara's passing and that was sad. Her songs were the sound of my teen years and she will be missed

Snippet - Howell sat on Dan’s bed while Dan worked at his desk, looking like maybe his head would explode. At least the nearly ever present roommate Adam was out. Howell picked up the book on the mattress next to him. He flipped it open and made a face. He scanned table of content headings like Alkanes, cycloalkanes, and functional groups and Resonance and acid-base chemistry and felt instantly like the dumb beast he was. Did Dan understand this stuff?

“Problem?” Dan asked.

“I was going to thank you for letting me hang in here while my idiot roommate entertains some of his mates and making the air impossible to breathe in my room but maybe I should go over there and let the marijuana kill off the few brain cells I have. I’m way too stupid for this class.” He wrapped his knuckles against the organic chemistry book.

“Don’t feel bad. It’s not like I could crack out a poem like you can.”

Howell snorted. “Don’t try to make me feel better. You probably could cobble together a poem faster than I’m going to understand the term stereochemistry.”

“Don’t bet on it. Though I don’t see you making much progress on your poem.” Dan jutted a chin to the table lying next to Howell’s leg.

“Kendra is really campaigning hard to get our professor to do that poetry slam since they’re trendy and now Grace thinks it’s a great idea too.”

“How exactly is this a problem?”

“She’ll come to the slam and she’ll drag you and Al too.” Howell thumped his head back against the wall.
