My brother and his wife had me down today for some pool time and showing me how to work his netflix/amazon prime because I'll be house/kitty sitting for them in a few weeks. I'm going to binge so much. I hate binging but when you only have a few days...
I also have to know how to work the pool
so I have a week of pool, binging and watching one old diabetic cat and two kittens, one who might be evil (and is polydactyl on all four feet) The new kittens both seem to like me. Well I met one at Christmas but this was the first for the hemmingway cat.
So, what show would YOU suggest I try (My planned shows are Wednesday, The Sandman, The Legend of Vox Machina and Vinland Saga)

Date: 2023-07-09 06:08 am (UTC)Shiny Happy People was an interesting short docu-series about the Duggers, christian fundamentalism in the US, Bill Gothard, and IBLP. TW for child abuse, sexual abuse, religious abuse. The main person being interviewed is one of the older Duggar girls and it's very respectful about the victims of the system.

Date: 2023-07-09 06:44 am (UTC)I can't recommend much in the way of series as we don't watch many, but if you don't already know them, Carnival Row on AP might interest you (fantasy & steampunk). Also, I'd recommend giving The Witcher at least a glimpse (Netflix), particularly if you're interested in seeing how a not-so-typical fantasy tale in a non-linear and non-mainstream narrating style has been filmed. S01 is awesome (and Henry Cavill awesome as Geralt), S02 a mixed bag - well-made but so different to the books most of us book and video game fans were massively turned off by some of the plot (I want to re-watch it soon for a second impression, though) - and S03 is a solid fantasy series mostly back to the book story. S01 is the best so far, and IMHO it's also fine to just watch this season and be well entertained, and get inspired for your own writing.
