I went to another online Abney Park concerts and I'm realizing just how much I enjoy these things. For me online concerts = best seat in the house, affordable booze, dance when I want/sit when I want, no one touching me. Not better than being there but also not worse. In many ways I rather like it better but the ambiance is of course different. (one of my last in person concerts was a bad experience and I haven't been to one in several years now if you ignore the ones at the renn fest)

Have any of you 'gone' to an online concert? Know of any on the horizon you'd like to share? I danced through this one. I wonder how bad my knee and/or ankle will be tomorrow.

I've been down a YouTube rabbit hole of 'creepy things kids say' Most of them are about seeing past relatives watching over them. I believe this can happen. What I am unnerved by are the numbers of ones saying they're the reincarnations of past relatives, like mom's raising a daughter who was her own mother in her past life. Others are 4 years old and talking about their best friend was their best friend in multiple lives. I find it very uncomfortable to think we might be stuck with the same handful of people again and again in multiple lives. (unlike those who find it sweet or romantic since I know I've seen romance with this theme), I mean a lot of us have bad or at the very least complicated families. I wouldn't want anyone to go through that multiple life times worth.

Also in the thinky thoughts, I think my tablet that I basically use as a kindle and little else, is dying. It is several years old now and I had to deep six a few apps to make room for a couple books downloads but the weird thing here is I removed several books off it and tried to bring down one. Um if you had room for those 6 books why do you not have room for one? I'm going to have to think about getting a new one (and really pay attention to the storage). Also it's not holding a charge well any more.

Dad never believed me about this galaxy tablet. It's a damn TARDIS but it travels without me. I couldn't synch it to download the book because it thought it was January 7th 1927. I showed him that because like I said, he doesn't believe me. WHY does it even have the possibility of going back to 1927? Don't know but I wish it would take me with it when it goes there, just so I could be a flapper for a day.

The good news is I got the Mall Horror story into beta shape. Now to find one besides ELD (thanks ELD)

Also in good news I almost have my [community profile] wipbigbang story done. Also the concert gave me an idea for a story, might even be my nano. We'll see.

I'm glad you enjoyed the concert, and I hope your knee didn't suffer for the dancing!

The filk community has been having concerts and song circles over zoom since spring of 2020. The best thing is not having to travel -- we regularly get folks from the EU and UK as well as the US.

I've been to several online concerts during the pandemic! Three concerts by the Decemberists on consecutive weekends (and all 3 were free~!) and one by Andrew Bird. They're just the greatest sometimes. I guess it depends on what you want from your concert experience, but as you said, "best seat in the house."
