Today was weird
Nov. 2nd, 2023 10:35 pmThere was so much to do in Jackson tonight, wolves at the library, First Thursday fun in the streets, a friend from my local nano writers group having an art opening at the Markay Theatre. And I could go to nothing because I have to get to bed relatively early and I didn't want to go to Jackson twice and i really REALLY need to clean this place and I won't have next thursday to do much. I didn't get much done as it was.
I made a call on my nano plan. Fandom Trumps Hate first because I want to get it to the requestor and I want to do stuff in Dec for
fandomtrees so I don't want to be dicking around with this then too (especially if things don't go as well as we all hope on the 13th with my surgery). Then I'll finish working on Slaying 80s style and then the new thing but I'll be jumping around between them all. Also in there adding a little to the word count are the two pro edits I have. I finished the novel because I had SUCH a short deadline on it (it's round 3) and now my short story in the Anna Karenina Isn't Dead anthology is up this weekend.
Tomorrow I have to go to that day long conference in Columbus. I'm thankful this thursday for the fact that it's in the upper west side of the city and NOT on OSU's god-awful campus. It'll be easier to park. I'm also thankful the thing starts at 10 AM and not 8!! I still have to get up ungodly early to get there between traffic and road construction. It should be an 1 1/2 drive. I'm giving myself 2 hours. Also thankful that Rocket stayed in last night and used the litter box (He prefers to go out like a dog)
Not thankful for the fact that the moment Nov hit, before the last witch could fly off, we have the onslaught of Christmas music and ads.
I also FINALLY watched the two movies I got from the library for Halloween. You Should Have Left that had the benefit of Kevin Bacon and a Welsh setting but it was so predictable (and sort of insulting to Welsh villages). Also watched M3GAN. Why was everyone so excited about this? It's also highly predictable, paint by the numbers. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad just it's nothing new. The aunt was also exceedingly annoying. Also not buying the whole thing with the dog, pretty sure if your neighbor's dog reaches thru the fence and bites the shit out of your kid, the police aren't going to say 'well fix your fence' and do nothing.
BBL with snippet and word count (doing pretty well)
