So today I went to Columbus to that meeting and it wasn't quite what I thought it would be. Yes it was about getting A&P on the TAG system (Transfer assurance guidance which means if it's approved as a tag class then you can go anywhere in OH and that uni HAS to accept it as being a class of quality). but also using A&P as a gen ed which is a HUGE undertaking.

Like 50 pages of forms big. Like they want 2/3rds of the labs to be interactive inquiry (which is much harder to do in A&P than in others), Like it could unintentionally disadvantage poorer schools, like Dana will be doing this unassisted because the other profs here aren't interested (close to retirement, not wanting to get ambitious)

I am excited for this. I'm afraid of this. I wish there was a better alignment between these two programs (we all did) what pissed me off had nothing to do with this and it soured the mood. One of the profs sitting with me has a med school at her uni and because of Ohio's insane anti-abortion rules (which is up for vote on Tuesday but I'm not holding my breath will be changed) med students in this state have to take a virtual class on how to perform abortions in case you know they have to save a woman's life as that does happen more than politicians and right wingers want people to know about. Let that sink in, these students CAN NOT be taught abortions in this state (and I could be fired if I mention that abortion is the only we can do in case of an ectopic pregnancy and no, OH senators we can't put the baby back in the fucking womb. That's still out of reach and yes many of these women don't want to lose that baby but they don't want to die either).

But there was a bright point too. I'm looking at one of the profs one table over going. I KNOW HER! That's one of my students and so she was back in 2007. Wow. Glad she's doing well. It was nice to see her.

We finished early so I took my bad mood and went shopping. Got a few things at Michael's, went to Whole Foods for weird veg and cheese (Japanese sweet potatoes, maritake mushrooms and persimmons) and then said I know I said no to Nordstrom's after last time and their shrinking Plus size offerings. I went in and now it was ONE sad rack. Fuck off Nordstrom's Macy's has most of these brands with a diversity of sizes (especially the one in Huntington WV)

I wanted to go for chinese or Nepalese (which you can't find here) but it was gone. Sigh. Hit Trader Joe's because I don't have enough food (sarcasm. I have a dragon's hoard and this is just ridiculous) Got lots of cheese. I get a very WEIRD bubble tea taro creme brulee (overpriced) where they DID brulee the top but that just got wet and made shards of sugar in the drink which had a weird grittiness to it. It tasted fine until the very bottom (guess I should have stirred more) where there was this thick custardy stuff. Okay then.

It was so early I decided to go eat at City BBQ in Circleville on the way home. Why? I Had a THIRTY dollar turkey sandwich for lunch (had no choice) so why get another one? I'm dumb that's why. Should have held out for Chillicothe and Mexican because this was disappointing (which is sad as it's usually good)

When I got home Roy Mustang was waiting for me He's a very attractive figure. He was my you have to have surgery gift to myself. Roy is definitely one of my forever husbands.
