Faculty Appreciation

cornerofmadnessToday was the faculty awards, two best prof awards (one from other faculty one from the students) and a service award (rejoining the party next year will be faculty scholarship award) and they gave us ONE email about this. Yesterday. I had already forgotten by today and that sums it up. We are so unimportant, they couldn't bother to give us a heads up.
They had snacks all of which was going to go to waste because no one k new about this (probably just taken up and given to students tonight or tomorrow. I was only there because someone in my dept got one of the awards. We USED to have a dinner for each award. We don't need that back but how about an actual dinner, make it an actual acknowledgement? Sigh. At least I got some cream puffs and fruit.
Tonight was also the write in I do once a month. I love this because it gives me a reason to take my ADHD and hyperfocus it on my overly competitive nature and I churned out over 3K and yet these boys still aren't screwing. How much talky foreplay do you need?!?
Also tomrrow is the last day to drop a class. So today is the 1001 queries of ' what can I do to pass?' NOT WAIT UNTIL THERE'S TWO CLASSES LEFT TO ASK THAT? You're in the 50% range. You need to be in the 70s. You're not passing. Bring me your drop papers and try again next time. One of them actually asked should I have been studying the homework. Everyone said I should...I say this EVERY week. Nah, don't bother. Busy regretting my life choices.
