Rocket is celebrating it by sleeping.

As for me I had to drive 40 miles to Chillicothe for my nerve conduction test on the bad leg. If you're unfamiliar with this the neurologist more or less zaps your nerves with something like a TASER and watches you jump (and records how fast the nerve conducts from point of contact to the end of the nerve) and after that they insert needles into the nerve and does the same. Whee.

I get there to find out there's been an emergency and the doc is running an hour and a half wait. I'm like Uh? You didn't text me? Can I go and come back? The answer to both is no. Thankfully I have the ebook fully charged... It was closer to 2 hours behind. He comes in very apologetic and then looks at me. "I know you? How do I know you?"

"Yeah I know you too but how??"

He looks at my record. You teach at U of RG? Yes I do.

Do you know DML? (Former head of nursing who just retired) Yes, she's my friend. And the doctor's mother in law. Oh then based on your surname, I taught your wife. Your sister in laws. 'And my brother!!' ANd your nephew in stem camp last year. This place is such a small world.

The good news - only the sural nerve is bad and it's sensory (I can't feel my feet but I CAN move them)

Bad news- he thinks this is neurogenic claudication as well which means the nerves are shutting down my blood vessels when I exercise. This is not great news (like I can still lose this leg) on the other hand if I start back with exercising it will help.

The good news redux - He was super impressed with how well my leg healed and how well I get around. At least someone said it.

In other news I need to stop getting cold coffee unless it's just that, just cold brew because man they put like 2 fingers of coffee in the glass and so much milk if you get the seasonal lattes. Everywhere I go it's the same.

What I Just Finished Reading:

Q-Squared - some Next Gen pro fanfic that was a slow starter but turned out to be pretty good.

Castle of the Cursed by Romina Garber - Loved this YA horror. It had a lot of twists (so many it's going to be hard to review for Netgalley)

A Rival Most Vial: Potioneering for Love and Profit by R.K. Ashwick self pubbed, probably deserved to be picked up by a big Romantasy publisher. I forget who recced this when I asked about recs for enemies to lovers (I think it was Betty) but thanks. I don't even like that trope but it really worked here.

What I am Currently Reading:

Unstable - just something I grabbed out of a little library because I needed a U for my alphabet challenge but hey it's going to work for the second chance romance too (I was NOT looking forward to that)

The Seeker - a black powder fantasy arc from Netgalley

Cinderwich by Cherie Priest where I feel like she's been spying on me with the main character

What I Plan to Read Next: Whatever I brought along for Popsugar challenge and a boatload of manga (that I have yet to look at)
