Are PBS and NPR television stations in America? I think I've heard of them. Have they been shut down? Why?

I knew they'd been defunded (fuckers), but are they actually gone?!! My local NPR station seemed to indicate they'd remain around so long as their listeners continued to donate to keep them afloat.

They announced they are winding down and removing programing. NPR is basically doing cloudfunding to stay alive. PBS will have a much more difficult time doing that

Thanks, how sad that they are being closed down. In Britain the previous government started to close down any shows they thought were left wing, I'm not sure what the new government is going to do.

Oh yes, I call him Agent Orange. It is so scary that he’s able to do that, it's really 1984 and fascist-y to only allow media that praises him. I'm so sorry this is happening in America, I really hope it can be stopped somehow and normal life resume.🙏

I'm rather hoping the Epstein scandal will end him but so far so many people don't care (I mean why would they? The victims were women and that party could care less about them)

The new government are better in some ways but not that good. A 2 party system is a bit restricting, I'm hoping Proportional Representation comes along instead.

I hope so but yes, people are apathetic now, they don't fight for their rights and women in the US (and worldwide) are being suppressed. So much for the rise of equality, feminism, women's rights etc. All that is being undermined now by cynical extreme groups. Grrr!😡
