Working on a villian and after looking at him I decided the name, while having a bad connotation for me doesn't really sound well tough. Which I suppose might sound stupid to some. What is a name after all? A powerful invocation for one. So I'm curious what male names (or nicknames) sound tough to you? What name invokes the bully? Right now the villian's name is Jerry. It'll probably be morphing to Jack which sounds slightly tougher. Let me know what names paint a mental picture of a villian for you. Heck if I like it, I'll steal it.

on another note, the pizza tonight came out...bad. The sauce was sour. I'm so disappointed.

Guy's names that are short for ordinary names never sound villianous to me: Jack, Bob, Joe, Mike, Steve, etc. I think the name needs to be a little more unusual.

that's sort of my thought too. I need to poke around on line. I was writing this scene in the library while my clothes washed next door and ALL their name books for babies are the modern ones with stupid names guaranteed to get a kid's ass kicked on the playground once a day

You could have a point. I also think that often times it's personal. Like I said, the name Jerry sends shivers up my spine but most people would not carry that image.
